Celebrating Disability Employment Awareness Month
Inclusion Lethbridge is proud to collaborate with the University of Lethbridge’s Accessibility, Belonging and Community (ABC) Office to celebrate Disability Employment Awareness Month (DEAM)!
Throughout October, the University of Lethbridge will host a series of engaging events and conversations focused on disability, accessibility, inclusion, and the importance of creating more welcoming and equitable communities and workplaces.
These events bring together students, community members, advocates, educators, and organizations to listen, learn, share experiences, and build greater understanding around disability and inclusion.
We are honored to be part of this collaboration and to help create opportunities for meaningful conversations that extend beyond DEAM and into our community throughout the year.

Bill 12: What can vulnerable Albertans expect?
Bill 12 introduces the new Alberta Disability Assistance Program (ADAP) to replace Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH). Many vulnerable Albertans face significant benefit cuts (around $200/month less than AISH), reduced income exemptions, removal of cost-of-living adjustments, and limited appeal rights. The Bill has sparked major concern about increased poverty and vulnerability despite government claims that these changes modernize support. The speakers elaborate on the impacts of Bill 12 and will address concerns about these issues.
